PCPA Dance Intensive Week

Get a jump start on your dance season! Our intensive week is a chance for your dancer to participate in a week focused on hard work, training, and progress as we prepare for our upcoming dance season. Our talented staff will work alongside experienced guest instructors and master instructors. If your dancer is wanting to take their dancing to the next level, participating in intensives is a great place to start.

Lauran Callan – Guest Instructor – Ballet

Guest teacher Lauran Callan has over eighteen years of experience as a dance educator, artistic director and live event producer. She specializes in classical and contemporary ballet with a focus on guiding students to improved performance quality through asking the basic question, ‘Why do I dance?’

A former Montessori teacher and homeschooling parent, Lauran guides students by involving them in their own dance educa9on, tapping into their intellect, curiosity and drive. Lauran trained at Ballet Pacifica in Laguna Beach under the instruction of Lewis Carver and continued her training with Patricia Bristow at Desert Ballet Centre rising to company member and soloist of the Desert Chamber Ballet.

She is the former founder and owner of Brilliant Dance Academy as well as its performing
company, Ballet Joshua Tree. Lauran has an advanced certification through Dance Educators of America and is also certified through Progressing Ballet Technique, Acroba9c Arts, USA Gymnastics and RAD Silver Swans. She lives in Morro Bay with her husband where they enjoy biking, hiking and kayaking.

Jadell Lee - Jazz

Jadell Lee – Guest Instructor – Jazz

Jadell Lee is an active dance educator, touring adjudicator, published author, and professional speaker who brings a fresh perspective of life to audiences across the country. He enjoys constantly feeding his creativity through leadership seminars, personal development, and growing in his artistry for dance. Jadell values time laughing with his family and has grown to understand that genuine relationships are the key to fulfillment in life. Jadell Lee is represented by Go 2 Talent Agency, Assistant Director of CRU Dance Competition, touring faculty for conventions such as Thrive Dance Experience and Creations Dance Championships, a guest master with both the Abby Lee Dance Company & SimmaDance’s, Simma Masters Series. In addition, Jadell holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance with a focus on experimental and unconventional choreography from the University of California, Riverside.

Jadell is also a former instructor here at PCPA and is excited to see new and old friends back in the studio!

Jadell Lee - Jazz

Minna Rogers – Guest Instructor – Musical Theatre

Minna has been professionally trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and modern dance. Her personal style of dance and teaching is to integrate technical excellence with emotional expression. She began her professional studies at Ballet Arts in Tucson, AZ. Minna has studied at Master classes and workshops at the University of Arizona, Vienna Opera Ballet School, Vienna Conservatory Ballet, among many others. She teaches Ballet, Performance Studies, and Musical Theatre Dance at local studios on the Peninsula, and choreographs and performs locally in Musical Theatre productions.

Elseana Skowronski

Elseana Skowronski – Guest Instructor – Lyrical

Elseana Skowronski grew up in Oakhurst, CA and started dancing at age 7. Although she started in only one jazz class a week, her interests quickly broadened to include ballet, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, and eventually pointe, and modern dance. While her main focus was training at her local studio, she also explored other opportunities in the dance industry. Elseana attended several dance conventions and intensives throughout California, including the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) month-long dance intensive in Valencia, CA in the summer of 2014. Additionally, Elseana participated in “The Nutcracker” under the Valley Performing Arts Council for 5 years, dancing alongside the Sacramento Ballet in several roles, including Angel, Candy Cane, and Flower. Elseana is currently the Assistant Elite Team Director at Yosemite Dance Company, where she choreographs for and coaches elite level dancers, ages 5 to 18. After transferring from Fresno City College, Elseana received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from San Francisco State University in December 2020.

Sophie Williams

Sophie Williams – Guest Instructor – Contemporary

Sophie Williams began her dancing journey at the age of four at The Next Step Dance Studio where she quickly entered the competition field at the age of five. She trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary, where she won numerous awards and recognition. Sophie has toured around the United States and Europe, where she has previously assisted dance conventions like LA Dance Magic and performed for a wide array of audiences.

 

Sophie currently directs and choreographs for numerous competition teams, as well as trains and competes with studios in Oakland, California. Approaching her sixth year teaching and guiding students all around the Bay Area, Sophie’s goal is not only to provide the best training for her students, but help people develop their artist voice and be proud of the artist they are created to be.
